Please rsvp so we know how many chairs to set up. We will meet outside unless weather turns odd, so the meeting will be wheelchair accessible. Bring sweaters in case we have a cool breeze. Please bring something to nibble. We'll provide apple juice, tea, and water.

Andy will start talking at about 1:30 for up to an hour.

  • New rules for PTIN's and "registered preparers" from IRS starting 2011 that affect bookkeepers
  • Expanded 1099 reporting starting 2012<
  • Elimination of the 8109 starting 2011
  • EDD consolidation of DE-6 and 7 starting 2011
  • HIRE Act items
  • COBRA items

We're between Allston & Bancroft on the west side of Sacramento St., 2 1/2 blocks south of University Ave.
Please park on the street, as the parking lot fills up with residents. Thanks.

University Ave is the central Berkeley exit from 80. Cross San Pablo, go another 5 or so blocks and turn right on Sacramento St. just after the Andronico's store. University is also 1 mile north of Ashby Avenue, which is Route 13, for those coming in from route 24. Route 24, exit onto 13, which turns into Ashby Avenue. Cross main streets: Telegraph Ave, Shattuck Ave. go another 5 or so blocks and turn right on Sacramento St. Go 2 blocks past Dwight Way to Bancroft and look for parking.

How to Prepare Your Own Schedule C

Prepare your business taxes for ’10 and get ready for ‘11. Review what the IRS wants to know from you and how to report it on the Schedule C for your business. This is a class for business owners who need a basic understanding of their 1040 Schedule C tax forms. We’ll also talk about what to do with the numbers once you have them. We can’t guarantee you won’t get audited, but this class will make it less likely. This class is free.
