Unlike basic bookkeeping services, Tax Buddha(sm) Wrangling helps people when their books are extremely untidy. We know what the books are supposed to look like and work to make corrections so the books accurately reflect the activities of the business or individual. Often this is in connection with preparing a tax return, or assisting with an audit after a tax return has been filed. Of course, we prefer to be proactive and make corrections before a tax return is filed.

One of our services is the Tax Buddha Two-Hour Site Visit(sm) where we visit a client’s books in person for a short period of time to answer any and all questions you, your bookkeeper, your partner or your cat may have about QuickBooks®. Through our experience we have found clients have difficulty retaining information after the second hour—its just too much to absorb. We are able to tailor training specifically to a client’s needs and experience level, without a tremendous financial burden to the business. We also let you “drive” the computer for most of the session, which helps with your retention. We are currently using remote solutions that will allow clients to work with us on-line to eliminate our travel time and allow a greater service area.

Other tasks we have performed include recovering books from “bad” bookkeepers and from owners who are too busy running their businesses to properly keep their books. We understand that different businesses and business owners need different information to help them make their individual decisions, and we can tailor financial systems to your needs.

A very satisfying aspect of our work is the look of mental relief we can bring to business owners. Instead of fretting about how bad things have become, business owners find they can use their financial reports to assist with making sound business decisions based on the facts.

Once we have made the corrections and put appropriate and effective financial systems in place we often turn the maintenance work of bookkeeping over to someone else. We generally work with QuickBooks® software, not only because of its availability and low cost, but also because of the large pool of potential bookkeepers who are available to work with the program: it does you no good to “repair” your books if you can’t find someone who can maintain them going forward.

We provide Wrangling services for $80 to $120 per hour.
